DISASTERS AT SEA.
A CLAN STEAMER DISABLED.

A -wireless message was received from the Moana, which left Wellington on Friday night for Sydney, stating that the Scales steamer Clan Ogilvy is partially disabled. The Clan Ogilvj- was bound from Dunedin to Newcastle for coal. The tug Terewhiti left Wellington shortly before noon to-day with the object of towing the disabled steamer to this port.
THE STEAMER MAKES PORT.
Wellington, April 22.
The steamer Sian Ogilvy reported disabled from Farewell Spit made the harbour under her own steam at 7 p.m. yesterday. The steamer has her interme i’atc shaft bent. Later.
The Clan igilvy broke down about 500 miles off Farewell Spit. She declined assistance from the tug Tcrawhiti, coming into port under her own steam. From the time repairs were made to her intermediate shaft she travelled at the rate of 5 knots..
