BOXING.
MITCHELL v. THOMAS
The Hawke’s Bay Boxing Association has arranged a 15-round contest betvzeen Jim Mitchell, of Millerton, heavyweight champion of New Zealand. and Peter Thomas, champion Maori boxer of New Zealand, for a purse of £4O. The fight will take place at the Princess Theatre, Hastings, on Tuesday evening, April 30th, and will be preceded by a number of preliminary bouts between leading Hawka’s Bay and petone amateurs. The box plan is now open at J. D. Donovan’s.
