j WORK AT TRENTHAM. i Wellington, April 15. I It was an exceedingly chilly morn- > ing a Trentham, and very little work of interest was done. j Mira and Effort ran six furlongs at threequarter pace. I Heatherbrae, Counterfeit, Masterpiece, Autumnus, Glenfinan and Brown did half to threequarter pace work. 1 Bronze (G. Price), Blakeney (A. : Oliver) ran four furlongs in 51sec, both going well. | Gipsy Belle (Emmerson) easily ran a mile in 1.50. Dearest (Emmerson) did the mile in 1.44 4-5. Stepney (Emmerson). Lad Jan (F. E. Jones), Styx (H. Telford) were ! b; iten after running 1 furlongs in 52iee. Sea Queen (W. Ryan) did 6 furlongs comfortably in 1.19. It was a pleasing performance. Dirge, who was sore, d;d 6 furlongs alone. After breakfast Midnight Sun. and Theodore did half pace work. Khamsin, carrying about Bst. badly beat Llanwern, v.:n:::ng the n.ile easily in 1.47 3-5. Los Ar.geles, Eanicra, Bon Ton, Bon Soir, Culprit, and Byron completed moderate tasks. Dorando (Hegarty), Zinte, and Trail gave a pleasing exhibition once round over the steeplechase fences. Xavier (Murtagh) and Rosegrove (Toe O’Connell) did a similar task, both fencing well. Rosegrove, however, injured her stifles at the brush fence half a mils from home.
