HAWKE’S BAY LAND DEALS.

[BY TEI.EGKA.ru oHECIAJ..) (Own Correspondent). Wellington, April 3. A gentleman from Hawke’s Bay said to a reporter to-day that land transactions and deals for some time past have been assuming very considerable dimensions. The other day a southern buyer completed a deal, bringing his total purchases to £170,000 in less than twelve months. Some of the large land owners, the informant said, are beginning to realise that it is not to their interests to retain their holdings, and more than one is determined to cut up a portion of their properties in the near future.
