Dunedin, March 15.
At the Women’s Christian Temperance Union to-day reports were presented dealing with work among the Maoris. The Maori organiser reported that 44 unions, totalling 600 member?, had been formed north of Auckland.
Reports dealing with hygeine, press work, savings bank department, anti-narcotic department, work among seamen and prison work were also presented. A motion was adopted expressing profound sorrow at the death of Mr. T. E. Taylor, and recognising the valuable services rendered by him f or the betterment of humanity.
In ths afternoon another batch of "sports bv various departments was dealt with.
A banner was presented to the Nelson Union, which has made the greatest proportional increase m members this year, its increase being 164.
Dunedin, March 16
At the meeting of the W.C.T.L., approval was expressed with Mr. Flamank’s presidential address at the Education Institute meeting at Tiniaru, and resolved to request the Government to take immediate action to appoint qualified doctors to lecture to elder boys and girls at the public schools on sex physiologyon scientific lines.
