ENTERTAINMENTS.

KING’S THEATRE. HASTINGS. To-night will be the last chance to ■ witness the star prograinnte at present being screened at the King’s Theatre. There are two favourite gazettes : n Australian and an English one. both contain news that we have already been made familiar vith through the cables, i'he industrial picture, “ Lignite Mines at Brux,” is a good subject. “ Mae’s Suitor ” is a comedy subject, which is 'very laughable. “ llefore Yorktown is taken from the American Wa*’. and the whole story is unfolded in an mt?resting way. The other dramas, “A Father’ Heart ” and “ Field-Marshal Villiers.’’ a>e both good subjects. The comic element is not forgotten, and altog> the programme is a thoroughly g;. -one. J’IUNCESS THEATRE. HASTINGS. The picture which appeals to us most in the present programme is the drama, “ For a Baby's Life.” The scene is laid near the Needles/ on the coast of England, and concnrns a fani.'iy of lighthouse keepers on an island. During the absence of the father with the only bout, the baby is taken ill, and the eldest girl puts on her swimming suit and swims ashore for a doctor. The picture is well acted, and the seascape off the Needles is splendid. Ths sesnte, “ Bologna,” is a very fine? picture. “ The Sardinian Drummer Boy, “Little Dove's Romance,” and “ The Old Sergeant ” are all excellent dramas, and tlie comics are highly; amusing. ELTON COMEDY COMPANY. Tha above company has made arrangements to play in the Princess Theatre, Hastings, next Friday. It is three years since they were here, but they Lit a wonderful impression. Mr 1’ ed Elton has been resting for two months; in Hastings, and he is going to g ve a percentage of the profits to the Plnniiet Nurse Fund. The company consists of actors, vocalists, dancers, bellring ■> s, trick violinists, and the theatre-going people are in for a great treat. ’J he box plan is at Flail’s, and 1 seats are at popular prices. OLYMPIA RINK, HASTINGS. The cool weather is bringing along an increasing number of skaters to the rink, which was crowded last evening, over a hundred couples taking tha floor. On AVednesday a fast race will be tun for the championship cup presented by the proprietors. The race promises to b? a good one. as both competitors are very fit and appear likely to put up a good time.
