TERRIBLE STREET ACCIDENT. [PEK PRESS ASSOCIATION. J J Auckland, March 8. A fatal motor car accident occurred at 5 o’clock this evening, and resulted in Mrs Prouse, of Wanganui, being killed, .and Mrs Jordan, wife of Canon Jordan (Mayor of Tmiranga) being seriously injured. Both Ladies, who were sisters, were on a visit to relatives. The lad its wencrossing the road at the time, when a motor car driven, by Mr. Garnet Campbell dime along and knocked them down, throwing Mrs Jordan aside and running over. Mrs Pro use. Mrs Jordan sustained a broken arm, three broken ribs and -a cut on the head, besides being severely bruised. She now’ lies m the hospital in a serious condition. Florence McAnally, aged 2 & years, employed at the Strand Cafe, Dixon street, attempted suicide to-day by cutitng her throat with a razor. She was found in her bedroom bleeding from a slight wound. She was suffering from the effects of drink. A doctor ordered her removal to the hospital. Her condition is not serious.
