Reduced railway fares between Paki Paki and Napier, and the intermediate stations were adopted by the Railway Department on the representation of Mr. J. Vigor Brown, M.P., and it was understood that these would operate on March Ist. However, the department’s officers have continued to charge the old rates, but the changes are to be gazetted this week, and inquiries at the head office of the department show that the reductions will come into force next Monday.
