RAILWAYMEN’S CONFERENCE.
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. 7 Wellington. March 5. The Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants’ Conference was continued to-day in Wellington. The question of the interval between the conferences was diseursed. anil a decision was arrived at. substituting a triennial gathering of the same representative character. Mr. W. T. Wilson (Palmerston North) was elected president for the ensuing three years, and the following were appointed to constitute the executive council for the same per iod : —North Island : Traffic Department. D. Dwyer: maintenance. L. Geraghty ; workshops. J. H. Whitburn : locomotive. A. Whisker. South Island : Traffic department. P. Gaines ; workshops. J. S. Barnett ; maintenance, E. J. Dash : locomotive. F. Hutchins. The conference will conclude its sittings in a few days.
