YVilliams (president) occupied the chair at a meeting of the committee of the Hawke’s Bay Cricket Association held in the Masonic Hotel, Napier, last evening. Correspondence was read from the Hawke’s Bay Sub-association (Dannevirke) stating that there was little likelihood of that association’s representative team vi'iting Napier' before Easter. A letter was read from the New Zealand Cricket Council detailing proposals for financing the proposed tour oi a New Zealand representative team to Australia in 1913. The varios associations are asked to support the proposal by subscription and gaarantees. The matter is to be dealt with by the Neu Zc-aland Cricket Council at its quarterly met ring in April. The secretary was instructed to contradict an unauthc'rised statement published last evening altering the second grade fixtures as reported m the “Herald" yesterday morning. Napier, at the close of the cup competitions. It was decided to endeavour to play the annual match against- Poverty Bay on March 23rd .and 24th. Messrs. YV. J. Hughes and E. YV. Sinyrk to arrange for the Hawke’s Bay team.
