FIRES.
AN INGLEWOOD BLAZE. Inglewood .Feb. 21. The makings of a serious fire were d’seovered at eleven o’clock on Tuesday night in the premises cf Mr. Kennedy (Saddler) whose shop vva-, entirely gutted. The lire spread over th? ceiling to the adjoining place g| Messrs. Nicholls ami Son. whose grocery and drapery were seriously damaged by smoke and water, but the building suffered little damage. The Brigade were quickly on’ the spot and saved the block. The splendid pi-essurc of water soon brought ths? fire under control. -Mr. Kennedy suffered a total loss, Messrs. Nicholls chiefly by water. The insurances are : On the building m lire New Zealand office £650, and in the United office £tit)O ; stock, m the United office £lOOO. Sun £lOOO.
