WAIPAWA.
(Own Correspondent.) Mr. P. J. Griffin, of Wellington, is on a business visit to Waipawa. £ Mr. E. 11. Lee, solicitor, has returned front his holidays. It is announced that Mr. Lee has taken Mr. Wedde into partnership. A number of fire-plugs in the main street were tested on Monday, and gave an average pressure of 1151 b., and yet it is rumoured that the fire insurance rates arc likely to be raised in the town. Alterations are being made to the Tennis Club pavilion in view of the annual tournament, which commences next Wednesday.
