I feel quite certain that the bottom of the lake for a length of about two miles is now in a state of activity, but I don’t consider that there E at present any reason for alarm.” ‘ LAKE BACK TO NORMAL. Rotorua. Fell. 9. In reference to Guide M arbriek’s report on Lake Rotomahana.’the unusual thermal activity was noticed about the middle of January and has now ceased. The lake is now practically back to its normal colour, regaining claritv e very day. The only noticeable feature in the neighbour lined is more than usual activity in Waiinangn basin.
