(Own Correspondent.) Competitors are requested to note that entries for the Takapuu Caledonian sports running and cycling events close on Monday, 12tn February. The secretary lias a number of entries already io hand, and many of the local sports are strenuously training. The society has beem busy during the last few reeks puffing the track in good order, and doing all they can for the convenience of competitor and spectator. Visitors will lie well catered for as the townsiiin has all the convenience required ■ (lie travelling public. The township is still going ahead, builders ami contractors have their hamls full for many months ahead. All the new shops have been l-'ascd and business people are asphalting the footpaths in front of tlieir shops. Tin?
