AVilliam Thomas Bowater was acquitted on a charge of a breach of the Bankruptcy Act by having made a false statement of his affairs to obtain a credit of £596<15/6 from Abraham and Williams, Limited. Wellington, Feb. 7. The second trial of Frederick AVilliam Green, on a charge of stealing £175 from the AVorking Men’s Club, of which he was secretary, commenced to-day r before Mr. Justi?-* Chapman and a jury. P. J. Coman was acquitted on a charge of attempting an illegal operation. The judge directed the jury that it was unsafe to convict, the woman's evidence lacking corroboration.
