INQUEST.
THE DEATH OF FRANK HARGREAVES. An inquest was held yesterday rftemoon at 5 o’clock at the Napier Hospital touching the death of Frank Hargreaves, who met with an accilent by falling between two railway ■rucks at Port Ahuriii yesterday norning. Mr. S. E. McCarthy, District Coroner, presided, and Scrgt. Jammings appeared for the police. The only evidence taken was that >f Timothy O’Keeffe, porter in the Railway Department at Napier. The witness said he knew the deceased, who was a porter and guard's assistant on the. mail train. He '.O’Keeffe) did not see the accident. Hargreaves was a married man and lived in Carlyle street. He had been employed by the New Zealand Railway Department for about twelve months. Deceased was about 25 cr 33 years of age, and witness thought he belonged to the Amalgamated Society of Railway servants. After taking this evidence the Coroner adjourned the inquest until next Saturday, -20th inst., at 11 a.m., when it will be re-opened at the Napier Courthouse.
