The “Daily Chronicle” states that it is seini-officially announced that Welsh Disestablishment will take precedence of Home Rule next session. ULSTER UNIONIST CLUB. (Received 17. 8.5 a.m.) London, Jan. 16. The Unionist Club movement at Ulster has a membership of over 200,000 as compared with 150,000 in 1893. PROTEST AGAINST WOMEN S SUFFRAGE. • CALAMITY OF FIRST MAGNITUDE.” The Right Hon. McKenna, and Messrs Pease, Hobhousc, Seely, Lambert, St. Leger. Grnnnrd ami Lord Herehell will appear on the flatforni to protest against women’s suffrage on February 28th. Mr. F. Smith, writing to the ‘Times,” states that votes for women would be a national calamity of the first magnitude. A referendum is desirable to help the section of Liberals who arc prepared to face the difficulty. The' Ministry is not inconsistent in advocating a referendum as the matter is not a party measure.

Sir Edward Grey*, in reply to correspondence concerning the Liberal newspapers accusations, says that any statements that his policy is in any’ way aggressive or inspired antagonism to any Power are totally unfounded.
