Sydney, Jan. 9. The price of butter was raised 4/-, following the report of the hardening of the London market. MOUNT .MORGAN MINE. HALF-YEARLY REPORT. (Received 9, 9.35 a.m.) Sydney. Jan. 9. The half-yearly report of the Mount Morgan Proprietary states that tlu total revenue is £452, 336 and the expenditure £3811730. During the halfyear 179,177 tons of ore, including 43,131 tons basic ore from many peaks, were treated, producing 3608 tons copper and 63,197 ounces of gold. The directors propose a dividend ol 1 - per share. £21,000 is allowed foi depreciation, .and .£2BBB carried forward.
The previous report stated that when the ore from many peaks was available there would he a larger production oi blister copper, ar.d the cost of treatment would !>e substantially reduced. These anticipations are not realised. Ono difficulty aris'e-; from the insufficient power of the plant, which disability is being removed.
