The big saw mills .and also the residence adjoining the i town have been dost roved.

Sydney. Dec. 29. At Narrabri fire spread with great, rapidity. Most of the buildings were weatherboard and there was no firefighting apparatus available. The water supply was also poor, and the residents were compelled to stand piactieally idle and watch the blaze. The whole of the chief business block was destroyed. Many of the occupants lost everything but their night attire. .£20.000 is a low estimate of the damage. WOOLWORKS DESTROYED. At midnight lire broke out in Messrs. Elliott and Co.’s, woolscourers, at Botany and destroyed the wash-house. Jhe engine-shed, the wool-loft and a large quantity of wool.
