PRESENTATION AT NAPIER HOSPITAL.

A pleasing little ceremony took place in No. 3 Y\ ard at the Napier Hospital this afternoon, the gathering being fc-r the purpose of saying "good-bye” to the Matron and also to show in a small manner the esteem in which she is held oy the patients. The presentation took the form of a silver case containing a glove stretcher, shoe horn, anci button hook. Dr. Gilray, in banding the presentation to trie Matron, which was ae-companied by a letter, said : — "Dear Patient:-. —I taKc it as a great honour to be asked by you to make this presentation to our Matron. This presentation sneaks ot itself to us and the public showing that you have recognised the very excellent work which she has done in tliis hospital. and I am sure that you all agree with me that in losing our Matron we are losing one who will be very hard to replace. 1 think that it is a great feather in the Matron’s cap that she has accomplished ,so much in such, a short tinre. There is no doubt that you will all join with me in wishing her the success m her future career which she so well deserves.”

The address read .‘is follows : “’To the Matron (Miss E. Kh. BmM of the Napier Hospital. "We the undersigned paiiints of AVard No. 3 of the Napier Hospital learn with mttch regret of your early departure from amongst us.
