The Dundee carters demand a minimum wage of 23 - weekly and the dockers an advance of Id an hour. -•\11 the smaller firms have conceded their demands, but the railway companies and larger firms refused. Troops were despatched to Dundee. Mr. Tom Mann protested to Lord Haldane that the presence of the troops was calculated to incite disorder. The strike committee guaranteed order if thev were recalled.

ItVENTY THOUSAND IDLE. THE LASSIES TAKE A HAND. (Received 21. J 0.55 a.m.) London. Dec. 20. Twenty thousand mill woikers at Dundee have been thrown idle. The strikeis ai <■ attacking lorries, one being thrown into the dock. To-day the mill lassies are overturning coal carts. The military are quartered at the Drill Hall l»ut have not yet been called out for duty.
