He 'might have had seme sympathy for the opposite party had he come to Napier on election day. Labour had no help whatever, but what help had there who were supporting Sir Joseph ! Was not every conveyance in tiie town working in the interests of monopoly and bastard Liberalism ? Was not every ignorant person under the control cf women who passed from house to house tn the interests of monopoly and the present effete rule ’ One wonders where the member fcr Napier v. ill in the new Ministry I VFill he be found on a carpet or sleeping on a rug ? The chance has come for bastard LiberalLabourism to distinguish itself. The white I’at coveting the capacious dwelling of Napier s representativeshould win him a place as member of the Ward Administration. Already it is rumoured that a private secretary is ready who v.-’ll no doubt supply plenty of news to Tennyson street of the usual quality. But, ah, “There’s many a slip”— you know the rest. The people are awakening to many dangers in Napier and one i‘f them is the bastard Liberal-La-bourism of Napier’s representative.-— I am, etc.,
