Easter. CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB. Christchurch. Dec. 6. The Canterbury Jockey Club has decided to instal a 10 - totalisator at its summer meeting.

The committee of the Canterbury. J:ckey Club Imus upheld the appeal of G.' Cudby (owner). C. Pritchard (trainer), and ’V. Coleman (rider) against their disqualification in connection with the running of Goldbird in the hurdle races at the recent races. The stewards ot the club, having read the additional evidence, concurred tn the removal of the disqualification. GOLF. HASTINGS CLUB. A special general meeting of the Hastings Golf Club was held in the Carlton Club Hotel last evening, Air F. A. Cameron presiding. The proposal to procure new grounds was discussed, and it v.as decided t<’ purchase an area of abi’iit 156 acres at Longlar.ds from Air. E. J. AVfitt for an IS hole course, which will be open for play

It was also decided to erect a commodious pavilion on the new links. The services of Air. AV. B. Simpson. of Christchurch, for the laying cut of the course, and as coach to the dull wore accepted. On the motion of Mr. D. banks it was decided to register under the Unclassified Societies Act. A sub-committee was appointed to go into the matter, of ways, and means for purchasing the new links and also to lay out the course under the supervision of Mr. H. Stewart, of AVarohiki.
