The two were advised to settle tin’ dispute on the lawn in front of the house. Fitzgerald declined to fight and went upstairs. followed by Brown. Some time’ la'er a disturbance was beard ;tiid the inmates rushed to Fitzgerald’s room. It is alleged that Brou n forced Fitzgerald on to the bed and badly treated him. Fitzgerald was found in a semi-conscious conditio’). A doctor v;i: called i.i and ordered his removal to the hospital. He is suffering from injury to the spine, and yesterday remained in a semiconscious condition. Lmt showed some slight improvfineiit this evening. Brown was arrested and charged with assault ;:t tlic police court this morning, and remanded until next week.
