Poultry Notes PROFITABLE POULTRY.

The Second Annual Conference of the Now Zealand Poultry Association opened in Christchurch on Tuesday. November 7th. at the Young Men’s Christian Association buildings. Mr. ,T. Harvey of Dunedin was elector chairman pro tern.
Tho proceedings opened with a reception to the delegates and members of th” As-oeiaticn. Councillor Coopqr f -n Lohnlf of the Mayor, who was unavoidably absent. in welcoming the delegates to Christchurch. strongly cilogiSTd union in any industry nnil eKprc-.-ed keen appreciation of the pre-rpn.-*o of so many ladies. Tie instanced the poultry industry in America r.nd its huge proportions as an incentive t > New Zealand poultry men to try and emulate them. He also drew nlt' ntion t > fhc possibilities of the cxpni t trade under modern conditions and concluded I>v again extending a bcorfv weh-ome to the Conference to Christchurch. Councillors Ganes and Holland also spoke much in the same rfrain.
Dr. Ru •I], Vice-president cf the Christ church poultry club also addressed the conference and gave a very interesting and instructive address.
