Such a phrase as the achievements of the great Liberal Party cuts no ice in Wellingt on. A brief review of election prospects in thi« cirv an i -üburbs might be of interest. In Wellington North. Mr. A. L. Herdman (Opposition) should i n-.e an easy victory. He towers ov'er his Liberal opponent. Dr. A. M. Izard, who it is .said, however, is making excellent progress among the fair sex. and over the Labour -in-. Mr. E. J. Carey. secretary of t inCooks’ and Waiters’ I nk.ii.
There is quite a duel l»-twn Mr. F. M .B. Fisher (Opposition) and Mr. R. Fletcher (Chairman of the Flarbour Board). Liberal. for the Central seat, ’he Labour man. Mr. ; W. T. Young. President of the Wellington Trades and Igibotir Council, being completely overshadowed. It is quite unsafe to prophesy tn this' electorate, hut Mr. Fisher's superior' platform ability is a valuable ml ■ junet. Mr. Fletcher is solid.
