YOUNG SETTLER KILLED. | [l-F.R PIIESS ASSOCIATION'.] Auckland. Nov. 15. A shocking accident occurred yest.crdav afternoon at Lake road railwav station between Te Awamutii and Ohaupo. resulting in the almost instrntancons death of Jack Burke, a y<- ing and highly respected settler rc’sii ing at Kiokio. a few miles from Te wanmtu. Deceased was returning ' nine by train from the Ahaupo call;-’ sale, and was breaking the journey at Lake Road station. Before- the train had fully pulled up. the d< ceased jumped on the platform, and was thrown under the ear- ! riag . his body being almost si vernl by ti:-' thigiis. The victim leaves a yotiry widow (married about I*, m-i.iths ago), and a child of two <dd. His relatives are wcllkinn. i in the Taranaki district.
