WAIPUKURAU SALE
The weekly live stock sales were held at Waipukurau yesterday, when a very small .carding was submitted to a moderate attendance. Beef met a dragging sale, and store cattle, mostly of poor quality, were hard to quit. Fat sheep met a ready sale at full market prices, and store sheep also sold well. Fat bullocks brought from £9 to £9 7/6, lighter £8 12 6, fat heifers £6 10 -, three-year-old store bullocks £6 7 6, two-yeareld steers £4 15,-, fat wethers 14'1, woolly hoggets (mixed sexes) 11,6 to 12 9, empty ewes 9 9.
Williams and Kettle, Limited, report the following sales: —8 fat bullocks £9 7, S, 16 fat bullocks £9, 9 fat bullocks £8 12 6,2 fat heifers £6 10/-, 36 empty ewes 9/9. The Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Cooperative Association, Limited, report the following sales : —29 four-year-old steers £6 7/6, 17 at £4 17 6, 56 three-year-old steers £4 15/-, 1 fat cow £5 10/-, 120 woolly wethers 14,5, 131 hoggets (mixed sexes) Lundon, Stewart and Co., Limited, report having held their regular weekly stock sale at Waipukurau yesterday, when they offered a good yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle to a fair attendance of the public. Bidding was not very spirited, but by the end ot the sale the majority of the yarding had changed hands either under the hammer oiprivately. They report the following sales: —45 woolly hoggets 11/3, 102 f. and f. wethers 18/1, 12 two-tooth wethers 11/-, 401 woolly wether hoggets 11 2, 200 hoggets (mixed sexes) 12/3, 300 hoggets (mixed sexes) 12 3, 8 fat bullocks £9, 3 weaners £1
