The competitions were continued to-day and this evening. There were good attendances. Results:--Impromptu Debate. — Victoria College A team, Wellington, I ; Vincent’s Catholic Club B team, Wellington, and Trinity Young Men’s Institute A team. Greymouth, equal.
i Humorous Quartette. The Lyric Four. Auckland, 1; Mr. Blandford's Parts, Wellington, 2. Flute Solo. Miss Simpson. Wellington, 1.

At thr New Zealand Competitions Victoria College team won the impromptu d* bate. Miss Simpson won the flute self;, the judge giving her high praise. The i-hcral contest began with three local choirs. The winners arc announced of •ptcial prizes, which include an 80guinca piano.
The champion niioals for singing -.vile won by Miss Knight and -Wr. Faricw (Au< kl-.ml); elocution. Miss Pritchard (Melbourne;, anil Mr. Osoorne (Dumdin). M-ss Pritchard alo. carrii.-! off four other special prizes for best promine’ation and i num-iation both m music- and emeu lit,:), and tic d w’th Mr. I>l inf<:r< 1 (Willington) for most' versatile perforin! r. and with Miss Knight for highest marks in solo singing. She also took the prize for self-accom-panied song. Miss Crant (Christchurch) secured the piizc for highest marks in singing for vocalists who ha.ve not received a fee.
Miss Brcuins (Christchurch) got a camera for the most promising elocutionist tnit-'cr 16, and Mr. Casey fnc Ohakttni cup for the best debater. Nearly all the special prizes went to performers from outside Wellington.
