Palmerston North. Oct. 31

A motor car ihiron by Mr. McGregor, of Wanganui, and containing Mr. Bathgate, rc.licitor. of Mastertom Mr. J. Hammond, the aviator. and Mr. Irvine, chauffeur, capsized over an embandmeni on the road between Bunny thorpe and Ashhursi. this evening. The car was travelling from Wanganui to Greytown. Mr. McGregor's leg was broken about tin' ankle. Mr. Hammond was severely bruised and rendered unconscious for a time, and Mr. Bathgate was badly stunned. Mr. Irvine escaped with a few bruises.

Mr. McG-rogor and Mr. Hammond were taken into Feikling in Dr. Willis’ car. an dMr. Bathgate got up and walked away after the accident and has not since been seen. It is supposed that he took shelter for the night at a neighbouring farm house.
