SCRATCHED. Christchurch, Oct. 30. Thuja was scratched for all engagements of the C.J.C. meeting at 9 a.m. to-day. St. Bees and Merw are scratched for all engagements at the C.J.C. meeting. OX THE RI( CARTOX TRACK. A SEXSATIOXAL MILE. Christehureh. Oct. 30. Ideal conditions prevailed at Riccarton this morning. Most of the work was done on the sand track which was extremely fast. The most importtint event this morning was a sensational mile run by Bliss without assistance in Imin. 39.15ec., a record for the track. Bliss finished well. Other work was comparatively unimportant. Midnight Sun appeared to be sore but was given a strong circuit.
ELLERSLIE TRAINIXG NOTES. Auckland. Oct. 29. The weather was beautiful for training operations at Ellerslie this morning. All work of importance was done outside the course proper. Goldsize beat Prime King over five furlongs (new post) in Imin 7 3-ssec. Maxwell and Soultoria were together at the eml of six furlongs in imin 2o 2-ssec. Antoinette easily held Admiral Soult at the end of seven furlongs in Imin 32 l-ssee. Sea Elf. with the assitance of Makura. ran the last four of G furlongs in Imin 22 2-ssec. Tact ran five furlongs (new post) in Imin Bsec. Kakamn spurted three furlongs in :’,s 4-ssee. Jack Delavel did the same in to 3-ssec. Santa Rosa and M ttimangu were together, two lengths in front of Coromandel, at th - cod of seven furlongs in Imin >2 Jc-ei. Taft went 3 furlongs in 3M -l-ssfc. Captain Soult went once rotiud in 2 mm -I 3-ssec. Master Wairiki ran t tut longs in Imin 33 I ssee.
