HAWKE’S BAY SHOW.
The concluding hours of the show were made decidedly unpleasant yesterday by a bitterly cold wind. Lut the public were loth to leave the ground and a big attendance watched tin- finish of the competitions. Many also lingered about among the side (shows until well into the dusk. ( The Hastings Band contributed j some capital music during the dav. i but the intervals between selections I appeared a little lengthy. > A distinctive feature of the show ! was the exceptionally large number 'of motor-cars in the carriage pad- ! dock. Cars of every size, value and (colour crowded the ground and gave [an eloquent proof of th? wealth of ( Hawke's Bay. i The general opinion among the ( visiting fanners is that the show *is well up to the standard and in some cases ahead of previous years. ; The provision of covering for the 'cattle was much appreciated by exhibitors and should encourage the [ showing of valuable stock.
I The points prize in the poultry seei tion was annexed by Air. Robert [ Smith with M points. Air. AV. C. , Davis being second with 62 points. ! Mr. Ambrose AVellwood’s Berkshire ( Boar was awarder! the championship < in the pig classes. COMPETITIONS. The competitions decided after we went to press yesterday resulted as follows :—
