The weather was fine, but there were blinding clouds of dust. The roads were good to Geelong, and afterwards patthv. The race provided a great finisl!.' Result: -Collings (34min) I. Tebbs (42min) 2. Lessing (lOmin) 3, Hughes (34inin) 4, Shtney (44niin) 5, all Victorians, who finished in a bunch. Collings securing the victory bv half a wheel in Shr 45niin 11 sec. Lessing entered a protest on the oTC.uid that Collings caught hold ol iiis, saddle- in the final sprint. O'Shea (New Zealand), the scratch man. made the fastest time, Shr ISmin 4 4 sec. Collings denies the interference. The protest will be heard by the League of Wheelmen. O'Shea was the only New Zealander to occupy a prominent place. AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS. Brisbane, Oct. 15. In the anistem' cycling championships of Australia the half mile was won by Tronsdell (Queensland) in 1 min 7'2_ssec, and the ten miles by Cutlift'e (New South Wales) in 26min 35sec.
