HAWKE’S BAY LAND BOARD.
The niontiiiy meeting of the Land Board was held in it he Government buildings. Napier, this morning. Present : Mr. (.'. R. Pollen (Commissioner or Crown lands) in the chair, Messrs Eustace Lane, Geo. Wright, and R. M. Birrell. A letter from Mr. R. R. Gror.m. apologising for his absence, and applying for continued leave- on accmint of illness was received anti the request was granted.
Mr. Lane said that he coijld not attend the Land Board meetings in Gisborne as he would not be back in time to attend an important Harbour Board meeting.- -Leave of absence on that date was granted. TRANSFER. The following transfers were approved T. Cripps to L. G. de Pelichet and (’. H. Cato. see. 2. block I. Tantane. I’. Lascelles to L. E. Horn, sections 3 and 4, block 111. Te Mata, Raureka Settlement. A. Engeebretsen to J. J. Littlejohn section 9, block V, Waipukurau, Lindsay Settlement. C. J- Maulder to W. Maulder, section 17, block XL, Waipukurau, Lindsay Settlement.

Rangers’ reports were received as follows :— On five holdings in Matapiro, Mangat ahe, Pourercre, and Argyll settlements. All were satisfactory, with the exception of Poilrercre, which was a. little short in improvements. CORRESPONDENCE. H. H. Phillips wrote applying for permission to surrender half an acre for a church site in section 8, block I, Tohoraite. -Request granted and the Waipawa Diocesan Trustees’ application for the site approved. Sainsbury, Logan and Williams, application on. behalf of G.G. and \V. G. Stead for a refund of rent on shortage of area of pastoral run No. 12, Ngaruroro. Refused.
Blakiston and Blakiston. application on behalf of J. H. Grantham so acquire the freehold of O.R.P. 111, section 2, block 5, Mangatoro S.D. Granted.
M. A. Dobson, application for exemplion from resitting on O.R.P. 100, section -53, block 1-1, Norsewood Survey District. Three months extension granted. J. D. Galloway, explanation as to non-residence on L.I.P. 379, section 10, block 1, Tahoraite Survey District. Two months exemption. Mrs. E. V. RENEWALS. J. Maefarlane applied for renewal of lease of sections 94, 133, 177, 238, 269, and 107, Clive Suburbs.—Renewal granted. GENERAL. The Lands Department wrote suggesting that all education leases be arranged to start from the end of June. —Received. The Department also wrote regarding the application of the Wairoa Borough Council to exchange an education reserve for the purpose of a recreation ground.—The exchange was’ agreed to. Messrs Natusch and Sons applied on behalf of Messrs Thompson and Dayne for permission to erect a skating rink on section 246, Napier town. —Permission granted. The board then rose.
