WAIPAWA.

(Own Correspondent). A bazaar under the auspices of the Wai paw a High School and Sports Clubs was held here on Wednesday and Thursday. The opening ceremony was performed by His Worship the Mayor, and in doing so mentioned that th ' second £loo from the proceed of the bazaar would go to the Recreation Ground Improvement Fund. He also stated that a grant of L‘s(i had been received from the Government. towards a Coronal i: n memorial, and that this sum was to be supplemented with £so from the Borough Council, a donation of £25 from Mr. A. E. .lull. £2O from the St. Patrick’s Sports Club and £25 from the Napier Harbour Board. This money would be expended on the erection of a pavilion. The first £lOO proceeds from the bazaar is to be expended on the school ground, which, li is Worship predicted, as a result of the effort would be equal to any in the Dominion and the Recreation Ground worthy of the town.
