HAWKE’S BAY SHOW.
Preparations for the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s spring show are progressing favourably, and only fine weather is needed to make the show the best yet held by the society. Record entries have been received, nearly every section showing an increase. The total number of entries received is 2213, beating the previous best, that of 1909, by nearly 100, the figures for that year having been 2111. The largest addition to the entries is in the horse section, which has a total of 579 against 422 last year, and the display of these animals is expected to be one of the finest ever seen on a show ground in the Dominion. The cattle and sheep sections also show considerable increases, while the entries of dogs and poultry are both belter than at any previous show. Additional pen accommodation will l>< provided for horses, cattle, sheep, dogs and poultry, and this work alone i- keeping a considerable staff busy The produce shed accomnicdnt ion space, too. large as :t is, w::l be taxed to the utmost with exhibits, trade displays, etc. A pleasing feature of the show is the number of new exh> *itors who have eoruc forward with entries.
