At the annual meeting of the South British Insurance Company, the Chairman of Directors’said the Company had had its usual losses during the year, some individually were large, but on the whole the year had been a prosperous om . Perhaps, considering the general coumierei :1 prosperity throughout the world, the Company’s profits had not been :o large as might fairly have been expected. The inadequate rates jirevailing in New Zealand were mamly responsible. The Boaro had provided a bonus to the staff which would absorb £Gsoo. He r< ported th it Messrs. Bolger and Edson, the retiring directors, have been re-elected.
