NAPIER CLUB. There wa< a good .attendance of bowlers and lady friends on the club s green and croquet lawn yesterday afternoon ; the following are the rinks and scores of those who handed in their cards

Harris, W’undrum, Cottrill, Neilson, 22. Roy, Cathie, Rice, Bardsley, 33; Thomson. Thorp, Williamson, Fielder, 22. THE CHALLENGE SHIELD. The delegates from the Napier,, Bluff Hill, Hastings and Greenmead<nvs clubs met to consider the conditions of play for the above shield during the current season. Mr. ECrowley was voted to the chair. It was considered desirable to alter the conditions of play from that of the nast season. The Hastings Club are now the holders. The meeting was adjourned till Saturday next, the delegates to meet at the opening of the Bluff Hill green. The following new conditions will be considered at the meeting, and. if approved, will, be submitted to the committees of the respective clubs, who will direct their respective delegates: '‘lhe matches to consist of two teams from each club. Clubs to challenge m rotation ; delegates to draw ; each draw to stand good for the whole season. Games to be played on dates to be arranged on the chib’s green holding rhe shield. The holders may be challenged bv members of their own club on anv elates other than those fixed by the delegates. The original selection to represent the club to be selected by match committees of the clubs concerned. The shield will be open for corneptition by Saturday and Wednesday teams, the score to lie the aggregate of both teams. The winners'will receive badges, and these must be worn at all subsequent competitions. The Wednesday skips
cannot occupy a similar position on Saturday or vice versa, but may play in any other position. In the event (if any team being minus a player the skip can, with the sancI tion of the opposing skip, replace [same by a substitue. No skip, howrever. can be substituted ; if the skip I is absent then the third player must act as skip, substitute to play in any other position.”
