HAVELOCK NORTH.
SCHOOL COMMITTEE
The Havelock North School Committee met last evening. All the members were present. The headmaster reported that the attendance was greatly reduced owing to measles. The timber for the new room had commenced to arrive, and this urgent need would soon be supplied. The Inspector's report was to hand and consideration of same was deferred till a future meeting.
The chairman intimated that he had received from a late settler in the district (Mr. J. Wilson) 1*25, the interest of which was to be used for the purchase of a prize for the most helpful girl in Standards 1. 5, and 6. This prize is to be given annually and in memory of Mr. Wilson s mother (deceased), who always took a deep interest in the children of Havelock North. -Donor to be thanked.
Correspondence was attended to. and Messrs. Joll and -Jarvis appointed a visiting < mnm ttce for the month.
