As a result of lengthy negotiations the shipping companies yesterday conceded an increase from 1,9 to 2 3 an hour. BRISTOL MINERS ON STRIKE. (Received IS, 9.15 a.m.) London, Sept.. 17. Twelve hundred miners have struck at Bristol, demanding the same increases should be granted as in I he Somerset arca. LABOUR EXCHANGES BOYCOTTED. DUBLIN LUMBERMEN. The timber men at Dublin have struck on account of the masters declining to recognise the Irish transport workers’ union. Four hundred men in the goods department of the Great SouthWestern railway, at Kingsbridge .street, have struck, declining to handle timber, DISCONTENTED POSTMEN. A postal employees’ campaign for redress of grievances and increase of pay has been inaugurated at Glasgow and is being widely* supported. The conditions of service are declared intolerable and' a resolution was passed urging the appointment of a committee in the House of Commons to hold an enquiry. A CO-OPERATIVE MINE. Colliers who arc on strike at Cillieburn colliery have accepted the olfei of tlie, Scottish Colliers Company to take over ami work the property as a co-operative concern .
