HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL.
ADJOURNED MEETING
The adjourned meeting of the Hastings Borough Council was held vestordav afternoon. Present: His Worship the Mayor (Mr. James Garnett), Ct’s. W. Htirt, J. R. Gillespie, B. C. AlcCormick, A. A. George, 11. Holderness and T. Styles. FINANCE COMMITTEE. The Finance Committee recommended the acceptance of Airs. E. Ncwriek's offer to sell 61 acres of land for grazing the corporation horses, situate at the southern end oi Willow Park Road a! £lOO ner aere, and in addition, the council pav Mrs. Newrick’s agent a commission of £25 : one fourth of the purchase money to be paid cash <low r n, and the balance in annual instalments of £lOO, the unpaid purchase money to bear interest at the rate of 5 per een<. per annum; any fencing that may be required, to be done by the council at its own expense. —Adopted. PARKS t OM.MITTEE. At the next, meeting of the Hastings Borough Council the Parks Committee will recommend as follows :— Cornwall Park. That the lake and drain be cleared out. Victoria Square. —That the cracks in the lloor of the Band Rotunda, and the gates and gate ornaments be attended to, and a rubbish box be placed in some convenient part of the square. Cemetery. -That the concrete kerbing round the circle be plastered and on its completion, tar and sand be supplied to the caretaker for asphalting new footpaths. ABATTOIRS COMMITTEE. The above committee have recommended the following improvements at the abattoirs.—That a fence be erected in the present cattle yard ; t’nat two small gates be fixed from the sheep race to the yard, and the fence in the sheep paddock repaired ; total cost estimated at £B.
