HONESTY BRAINS AND ENERGY.
TO THE EHITOH. Sir.—Good man Mr Cassidy. You express iny sentiments exactly with regard to the effusion in Wednesday’s “Tribune” signed “One of Many.” I would also add my voich in approval of the fearless honesty and energy in Mr. Lane’s public life and speech. The three essentials of a good public man arc honesty, brains and energy. Though unable to agree witli all of Mr. Lane’s views I certainly think his mental powers arc of sufficiently good quality to at least merit respect. —I am, etc.,
