In a few minutes Hawke’s Bay again scored. Miss Cogswell, inside-right, just had a shot which was saved, but before the goalkeeper cleared, Miss Crowley, bully, slipped in and netted. Maiiavvatu then rallied, Miss J. Bailey. their left winger, by the most brilliant effort of the day. ran cr mpletely through the Hawke s Ba.v team : starting from near her cwn goal line she outpaced the defimee. passing Miss G. Morrison, t.i.iithalf, and Miss Mc.Alidiael, rm it full-back, very simply. Miss Morrison. goal-keeper, came out to meet her but Miss Bailey eluded he. and hit into an empty goal. Half-time came with the score still 2 to 1. Both teams maintained the pare throughout the second spell play being open and interesting. Hawse’s Bay s third goal came off AUss Pitt s stick. Manawatn soon afterwards netted the ball, but the goal was disallowed owing to offside play. Miss Crowley scored the fourth goal from a hard centre from the left-wing. In this instance Manawatu s goalkeeper missed Miss Crowlev s shot badly. The next score resulted from a penalty bully. In this case the ball was hit from outside the circle to the goal. Manawatu’s goalkeeper slipping in tlie effort to save and sat on the ball, and the referee awarded a penalty bully from which there was a short tussle between .Alanawatu's goalkeeper and Miss Crowley, bully for Hawke's Bay. Tlie Manawatn player at first won. but dill not hit tlie ball outside the circle, and Miss Crowley, running back, shot into an empty goal. The sixth and last goal for Hawke's Bay was due also to Miss Crowley, her fourth of the match. Trie game ended : Hawke's Bav 6. Manawatn B 1.
