NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. Wanganui. Sept. 5. The New Zealand Golf Chammmislnp me(*ting was continued to- lay. The weather was somewhat mix'!. In the early morning a stiff ga'c blew from the westward, and a. heavy shower fell about 10.30. The wind then veered round to the south, but the latter part of the afternoon was much quieter. Some good golf was again witnessed. Arliiur Duncan maintained his lead in the Open Championship, and playing very consistently won the coveted title of champion. His third round was done in so and his fourth in SI. the total being 311). J. C. Johnson was three behind Duncan but he played the best round of the day, scoring 79 and 77 icspeitivmly. Clements was in better form than on Monday, and put up SI and so, his aggregate being 320, which was I’qualled by Stewart who, however, lost several strokes, his round being S 3 and S 3. Wellington's No. I learn carried off the liiterclub Challenge Vase.
