A e in aid of the Waiohiki staf fc. the forthcoming Roman Catholic bazaar was held at Tarada.'- 1; s? evening, there being be- • ,-een 3') and 40 couples present. Music ••-.as supplied by Miss McShane, mid songs were given by Messrs Brodie, J. Sullivan and H. Hollis. Extras were played by Messrs Hollis and Keen. The M’sC. were Messrs Brodie and Harrison. A supper was provided by the ladies committee. Dancing was continued till an early hour in the morning, and all enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The committee are to be congratulated on their efforts. The proceeds obtained by the dance will go a long way towards providing the funds needed for the stall.

The annual dance of the Napier Napier Hockey Club was held last evening in the Foresters’ Hall, Napier. There was a large attendance, about 8o couples occupying the floor anil a most enjoyable time was spent by all. An excellent supper was proi ided, a strong ladies’ committee having worked hard to ensure the success of this feature of the dance. Miss Newbould supplied suitable music for the dances, and numerous extras were played. Credit is due to the joint secretaries, Messrs S. J. Cook and A. F. Yates, for the capable way in which they carried out their duties.
