NAPIER PRIZE WINNERS.

Wellington, Aug. 25. The Wellington Kennel Club’s twenty-fifth annual show is being held. Judging was completed thismorning. The show is easily a record for New Zealand in point of quality and number of dogs entered . The success ui the Hawke’s Bay dogs entered is phenomenal. The following is a record of their wins :—
In rough-coated collies J. G. Parker’s bitch Mosgiel Sensation won three, firsts.
In bulldogs W. Dunningham’s (Napier) dog Chelsea Lad won three seconds, and the same owner’s Wharekoki Dona a second and third, while Chelsea Lad and Dona gained first in the brace class.
In fox terriers, W. A. Smith’® dog Napier Soudan had a runaway victory, winning six first prizes, special for best dog puppy, special for best smooth dog in show, fif-teen-guinea shield for best smooth dog, also the sire’s produce stake. Mr. Smith’s smooth bitch Napier Sunray won first in novice elas® and a special cup value £4/4/-. He. also won first in fox terrier brace, team, and in terrier team and brace class any variety. Napier Soudan also won a trophy for the best fox terrier, dog, wire or smooth, and gold medal for best puppy, either sex, wire or smooth-. In wire hair fox terriers C. L. Thomas’ Odol of Scinde secured three'second prizes. Mr. J. Hindmarsh, with Menton Mione, waa awarded a first and two second prizes.
In Lrish terriers, D. T. Sinclair’s puppy dog Home Rule won first in puppy class, five-guinea cup for> ( best puppy, either sex, and gold medal for best puppy, either sex, and gold medal for best puppy dog. With his bitch Peggy Prycie he won three firsts and a fifteenguinea trophy’ for best Irish terrier bitch in show.
The success of the Napier terriers, both Irish and fox, was very popular among the visiting fanciers, and the number of telegram® from absentee fanciers to their owners at the show marked the keenness with which their doing® are followed by all doggie people. The cups, trophies, and prize money won by Messrs. D. T. Sinclair and W. A. Smith totalled nearly’ £7O.
