MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

A JUVENILE OFFENDER. A young boy was charged in the Juvenile Court with theft of a
quantity of ties, valued at 10/-. from the Haw’ke’s Bay Club. The case was remanded until Monday next.
REFUSING TO QUIT
Joseph O’Shea was charged with refusing to quit the Empire Hotel, Napier, on August 11th. He w’as also charged with drunkenness. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the first charge he was fined 40/-, and costs 2/-, in default seven days. Fourteen days allowed to pay the fine. He was convicted and discharged on the charge of drunkenness. ILLEGALLY ON PREMISES.
Albert Ulman was charged with being a rogue and a vagabond, and with unlawfully being on the premises of J. P. Thomson by night. .Accused said he had gone in there to see if the building was finished off in wood or plaster. Inspector Dwyer said that the man had previously been convicted of theft and other offences at Hastings.
Convicted and sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.
NO LIGHTS
Francis Bailey w’as charged with driving a vehicle in Emerson street after sunset without lights. Accused did not appear, and after formal evidence had been given by the police, he was convicted and fined 30/-, and costs 7/-, in default fourteen days.
