ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.
A FATAL OPERATION.
Auckland, Aug. 19.
Thomas Oaks, a single man, 39. suffering from swollen glands, died in the hospital this morning. Chloroform was being administered previous to an operation, but the doctors found the patient could not stand it and they desisted. Oakes died an hour and a-half later.
