Speaking at Three Rivers, in Quebec, Sir W. Laurier forecasted his probable early retirement. He asked what political life now offered ? For twenty years he bad not known what rest meant. His opponents might defeat him, but they could not take away the love of those who had worked with liim. nor the prosperity that Canada had enjoyed with the fiftten years’ Liberal administ ra t i o n.
