A Dunedin telegram states that Ph;.His Perry Counterpoint scored the 150 points possible in the advanced grade at the Royal Academy of Music May exam. Mr. Cachemaille. remarks that this is the highest number of marks ever given to a Xew Zealander. At the Napier Magistrate’s Court this morning an offender for drunkenness asked for a few days so that he could obtain money to pay his fine. Sergeant Cummings opposed the request. Tie stated that offenders were in the habit of leaving the district, and the fines unpaid, giving the police expense ami trouble to ascertain their whereabouts.
